the JobMatch team (the “Operator”) handles the personal information collected through the job matching service “JobMatch” (the “Service”) with care and in line with applicable law. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how we handle it.
1. What we collect
Account information: your email address and the details needed to sign in (sign-in is handled by an external service).
Job seeker profile: display name, visa type, bio, experience summary, skills, languages and levels, preferred locations and job types, resume and profile photo.
Application information: your message, any files you attach, and the status of the application (reviewed, accepted and so on).
Employer information: company name, ABN, industry, location, website, company description, and job listings and photos.
The content of enquiries and reports, and technical records needed to run the Service safely (access times, errors and the like).
2. How we use it
To run the Service (showing jobs, receiving applications, managing statuses), send emails about applications and status changes, respond to enquiries, prevent fraud, scams and inappropriate content, and improve the Service (using usage figures that do not identify individuals).
3. Who can see it
When a job seeker applies, part of their profile (display name, visa type, languages, message) and any resume or files attached to the application are shown to the employer being applied to. An employer can only see people who applied to their own listings.
Resumes, profile photos and attachments are stored privately. Only the person themselves and the employer they applied to can open them, through a temporary link.
Job listings, their photos and the company name are public.
4. Service providers
The Service is run with the help of external providers for sign-in, database and file storage, email delivery, website hosting and site analytics. We share information with them only as needed to do that work.
These providers may process data outside Australia. The Operator will use Australian data centres where possible and aims to choose providers carefully.
Apart from this, we do not pass information to third parties without your consent, except where required by law or where it is unavoidable to prevent harm such as fraud. We never sell information for advertising.
5. Cookies
The Service uses cookies needed to keep you signed in and to remember your language. We do not use advertising trackers.
To improve the site, we use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views, approximate region, device type and referring site in a way that does not identify individuals. It does not use cookies.
6. Retention and deletion
We keep information for as long as it is needed to run the Service. If you delete your account, your profile, applications and related information are deleted too (except records we must keep by law or need to prevent abuse).
To ask for deletion, or to check or correct your information, contact support@jobmatchau.com. We will respond within a reasonable time.
7. Security
We protect information with measures such as encrypted connections, private file storage and access checks. No system on the internet can be guaranteed completely secure.
8. Under 18s
The Service is intended for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
9. Changes to this policy
We may change this policy. Important changes will be announced on the Service.
